As Head Teacher of Southville Infant and Nursery School, I am very pleased to welcome you to our website, and to our school.
This website is here for a number of different audiences - firstly for our families and our children, but also for our local community, any prospective parents and our friends and families abroad. We hope that for whatever reason you visit our site that you get a full flavour of what our school is all about, and find the information that you are looking for. (Feedback is always welcome!)
Southville is a popular school, based in Feltham, London Borough of Hounslow. We have up to 360 pupils on role, aged between 3 and 7. It is a very special place that combines a hardworking, determined and aspirational ethos with a happy, friendly and fun atmosphere.
I have had the privilege of being associated with Southville for many years - I arrived as a teacher in 1992, then as Deputy Head, and have been Head Teacher since 2001.
| Why have I stayed around so long? Well... |
- Our pupils are a delight - keen to engage and motivated to learn. They behave well and work hard.
- Our staff work so hard, and are passionate about providing children with the best possible opportunities and level of care and nurturing. They are successful in getting the right balance between creating a school that is fun, creative and play based, with having high expectations of what children will achieve academically. They are forward thinking, warm and friendly, and I feel blessed to be working with them.
- Our parents and carers are increasingly keen to support and ambitious for their children and are appreciative of our mission to educate, nurture and care for their children.
Combine all this with a supportive and encouraging Governing Body, a modern, light and airy building and beautiful, spacious grounds - you can see why I am still here!
We are very proud of our school in terms of pupil achievement and results - this is on the increase year on year, as the school constantly strives to raise standards. This website gives you an insight into our successes.
Southville Infant and Nursery School really is a special place in which to learn and a great place to work.
